After a debilitating spinal injury and years of habitual overtraining, Kiersten turned to Yoga and Pilates in search of lasting rehabilitation. Rather than accepting these disciplines as rigid systems, she began synthesizing their principles into her own approach — one designed to cultivate strength, resilience, and long-term physical capability. Her advanced knowledge of anatomy — particularly fascia and the lymphatic system — informs her approach to and sequencing of all physical activity, from yoga to Pilates to HIIT, resistance, and breathwork training. For more than 15 years, she has shared the teachings and practices that continue to shape her path.

Certifications 

Kiersten is a certified 500-hour Yoga Alliance Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500) and Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP) who has logged thousands of hours of study with movement specialists across the globe.

She has completed four 300-hour advanced yoga teacher trainings (three 300-HR with Dylan Werner and one 300-HR with Briohny Smyth and Dice Iida-Klein).

In addition, Kiersten is certified in Anatomy Trains Modules I and II with a focus on myofascial anatomy and functional movement.

She studied fascia and movement in a week-long hands-on training with Tom Myers and Karin Gurtner, and spent eight days in the Pyrenees Mountains learning breathwork and deliberate cold exposure therapy from Wim Hof.

Kiersten also completed the 102 Movement & Mobility Experience with Dr. Kelly Starrett, blending the analysis of sub-optimal positions with hands-on solutions to return athletes to peak performance.

Kiersten is a certified Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist (FRCms), and is certified in reformer and mat Pilates with Standard and Hot Pilates with Gabriella Walters. 

Kiersten is the founder and lead trainer for apah yoga school, a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School (RYS), through which she offers advanced movement teacher trainings (200HR TT, 300HR TT, HIIT Pilates, etc.), international intensives, and workshops throughout the year.

Kiersten holds a PhD from Stanford University and currently works at a climate tech startup in Silicon Valley.
